The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa allows the parents and grandparents of Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents to come to Canada as visitors. The super visa is a multiple-entry visa valid for 10 years.
Requirements for super visa for applicants (parent and grandparent)
- The applicants (parent and grandparent) must be parent or grandparent of a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
- The applicants (parent and grandparent) must have a signed letter (Letter of Invitation) from the child or grandchild who invites them to Canada that includes:
- A promise of financial support for the duration of your visit.
- The list and number of people in the household of this person.
- A copy of this person’s Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident document.
- The applicants (parent and grandparent) must have a medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company valid for at least one year from the date of entry with a minimum coverage of $100,000 CAD for health care, hospitalization and repatriation.
- The applicants (parent and grandparent) must take an element immigration medical exam.
- The applicants (parent and grandparent) must me eligible for a temporary resident visa and should not be ineligible on criminal and/or medical grounds.
- The Applicant’s (parent and grandparent) child or grandchild must meets the low-income cut-off (LICO) requirements.
Important Points
Dependent children can not be included in super visa application. Only parent or grandparent, together with their spouses or common-law partners, may be included on in super visa application.
